Econ minister says Russia’s GDP falls 0.7% in April
BRATISLAVA, May 24 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) contracted by 0.7% in April, Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said at a meeting with Slovakian business circles on Tuesday.
“The statistics says that we left behind the bottom in the middle of last year, the GDP contraction was 3.7% in 2015. The data is much better now, the decrease was about 1.2% in the first quarter, in April it was 0.7%,” Ulyukayev said.
“We hope that we will leave this zone of negative development by the end of the second quarter and that for the whole of 2016 there will be approximately zero GDP dynamics,” he said.
